I thought we could list here some cool movie suggestions music related...
It doesn't need to be guitar..

My recomendations are:

Crossroads (Great Steve Vai performance and very entertaining)
Eddie and the Cruisers 2 (I've watched this one more than 30 times.. Not a classic, but one of my favorites..)

Moulin Rouge isn't really about music but it's a musical with awesome music in it and the movie is absolutely brilliant.

Mo Betta Blues

Its about a jazz musician and his struggles to living life and being famous. One of the best Denzel Washington movies I've seen.

I think you got it confused. Were listing Films that revolve around music. Not music documentary or live acts.

He's including both in his list.

And I have to agree that The Commitments is amazing.

I hate musicals with a passion, although I'm sure there are a lot of music "related" movies that are good.

1900!

About the marvelous pianist who plays on one overseas boat, and never been off that boat in his whole life. He was even born on that boat. Spectacular movie.

http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=1900&x=0&y=0

I also like this new movie about Ray Charles.
