well, what kind of music do you like playing most? are you looking to play with a band, or just bedroom practice? I just bought myself a Roland Microcube, but i was a bit skeptical, after hearing it was only 2W, but damn, it is loud and has amazing tone. It was only £70 and comes with a few built in effects, which are pretty good. The distortion channel(s) are really good for shred, but they have some really good cleans to...

so, answer the above questions, and ill try to help you out more....

well, it may not be 12's for speakers but for the price and quality you cant beat the line-6 spyder 210.
I have a used one I that I practice with when I am not playing through the marshall. nice sounding little amp with a bit of sack and decent tones.....just my 2 cents wink.gif

I own a laney LV200. It is "tube enabled" which means it also contains a tube valve giving it that warm, crunchy "tube" sound to it. I love this amp hehe. 1x12" speaker, 3 channels (1 clean and 2 OD) with reverb for both OD channels and Clean. It is an amazing amp, sounds very very good. I think it is around the price range u are looking at. Give laney a try, they make superb amps. Many greats use a laney, including Randy Rhoads (R.I.P)

hehe nope, they are very long lasting, and plus its not a full tube amp. And if anything ever happens to the tube, u can just replace it. Crank the amp up and u get that sought for tube sound. The 2 OD channels enable for huge versatility, all the way from clean to jazz, blues, funk, full distortion, etc. It's got a few buttons that disable the hum, and provide extra warmth and distortion when needed. Check it out on their website. And if you ever feel like purchasing a pre-amp effects board or whatnot, theres a FX-Return input at the back enabling you to bypass all the amps FX circuitry and straight to the Poweramp section of the amplifier- meaning that all the sound and effects/distortion will be provided by the pre-amp. I've had it a while, and it's fit me perfectly.

Check out different amps too though smile.gif.

PS: Laney amps are made in the UK too:P so theyve got to be good quality, right? happy.gif
