Do you get paid a fair amount for that or not really? My friend really wants to do that after completing his Computer course at college.

Well I spent $95k on a bachelors degree to make $35k a year. Hahha life isn't fair. I'd say tell your friend to go to college for something else, computers suck anyways.

I feel your pain fatb0t! You don't even want to know how much it cost to go to dental school. Education costs are way out of whack with what you end up making once you are out of schooL Student loans are the gift that keeps on giving. biggrin.gif

While the population to speak of in this thread isn't nearly high enough to make a generalisation, it seems GMC is home to a higher than expected number of people with higher education.

Not that it matters one way or another, it's just something funny I noticed. It does explain the existentialism and quantum physics discussions in the chat!

Speaking of jobs, I'm having some work related problems here.

The lady who keeps track of all the money, secretary tasks and similar things that I can't do, recently moved from her office oand out into the reception where my place is. She felt that was the best thing to do, as things worked much better when she was out here with the former receptionist. However, I seem to get much less done and feeling much more pressured when she is out here. I know I don't do anything right now, but being out here alone makes me more motivated to do things rather than when she is here.

Of course I can't tell her to move back into her office, and she wouldn't do that anyway, but I'm not so sure how to overcome this... any good advice from you clever GMC'ers?

Well the questions I would first have is who is your line manager (her or somebody else?), and secondly (more importantly) why is it exactly that you can't work as motivated when she is in the same room (do you feel that she is judging you all the time, is she an annoying person?)?
