It is now possible to embed video in the wiki! biggrin.gif

For a youtube video, use this syntax:
{{#ev:youtube|dMH0bHeiRNg}}

More details: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:EmbedVideo (we are using this extension).

You can also embed video from the following sites:

* Dailymotion
* FunnyOrDie
* Google Video
* sevenload
* Revver

I think this will add a cool dimension to our articles, so...who wants to be the first to try this? ph34r.gif

Awesome smile.gif

One question though, will there be a problem with copyrights if we embed a song for a band we're writing about?

No, since we are embedding the content, the video is not hosted on the GMC server. The youtube team filters their content for copyright infringement.

If you do suspect that what you are embedding will be removed from youtube - then we suggest you wait a little or choose another video.

This is a great addition and yes I wonder the same thing. I wont do anything till I hear whether it's allowed.
