Well ,I am a beginner and have played guitar for a half a year now and joined Guitarmasterclass yesterday biggrin.gif
Well I made this tread for some tabs I doesn't understand:

This is the tab from Trond Vold's great lesson "Slow soloing"
E||---------------------|-------------------|
B||---------------------|-------------------|
G||--14b---------------|--L----------------| What is the "L" meaning, I took the "14b" with her because I tought L has
D||---------------------|-------------------| something to do with it.

Also from Trond's "Slow soloing lesson"

|---------------------|
|--12g14------------|
|---------------------|I don't know what the "g" is
|---------------------|
|---------------------|
|---------------------|

I hope you can help and I would be very grateful if you help me smile.gif

L means tied note. So you hold the bend on for all of the next bar as well.

g means grace note. So you hammer-on/slide, very quickly up from the 12th to the 14th note.

Also try checking out Andrew's Lesson on Tab for help with Tabs. smile.gif

I asked this very same question shortly after I joined about a year ago.

that L means that you hold the note, in this case a bend, through the next measure. Just listen to the video, and hold it as long as Trond does.

as for the "g" in the tablature, I'm not sure exactly. but the video it looks like a hammer-on. Pick the note on the 12th fret, and with your fretting hand hit the note on the 14th fret

hope this helps!

EDIT: blast! he got here before me

Also wanted to tell you mate that when you post a tab on the forum you can do it by wrapping it into tab tags like this: [ tab ] [ /tab ] just don't make these spaces within the brackets. This will turn the tab into monospaced Courier font that is suitable for tabs.
