hi im looking to buy some emg pickups the configuration is HSH what would give me some crunching sound but with the ability to create piercing highs blink.gif

dude get DiMarzio super distortion, or DiMarzio Evolution pickups. Vai style ;]~~

EMG's arent versatile enough. Or if u want full versatility, I would recommend Seymour Duncans. Check them out!

+1 Vouch for the Seymour Duncan's. I have had very good experiences with them.

The most common configuration for a good versitile set-up is usually a Jeff Buckley (JB-4) at the bridge and a Jazz (SH2N) at the neck. I think that is also the configuration that Jackson use on their high end models...

Yeah, EMGs are good and quiet, but they only make a few models, so your tone will be similar to anyone who uses EMGs.
And I'll vouch for Dimarzio, and Seymour Duncan Pickups, great pro level pickups.
