I don't know why, but I have a craving for a Stratocaster for about 6 months.... ...). The advantage with this is that I could choose the color 3 tone sunburst whit the maple neck.... Go for the american strat with the finish you want!, if you need to save a bit more then wait & save, but get the guitar you really want. Last november I got that guitar with the same finish/neck, and I just love it. I can see why so many famous guitarists are devoted strat swingers, it's a perfect piece of craftmanship. -------------------- Guitars:

I would also very much recommend that you save some more and get a USA Strat. It's well worth the money, and the guitar is extremely nicely built (for the price).

I would recommend getting a USA Strat mate! Possibly new (to have the possibility to try the guitar and choose the finish you like)...They are well worth the price you pay for the guitar and its really versatile..

Definitely American Strat, a Deluxe if you can find one for the right price. The neck on these things are smooth as silk. Every time I pick it up, I'm in love all over again.

Maple neck sounds a bit brighter, rosewood is a bit more "round". But it's just a small difference, at least for my ears. I'd go for the one you like and feel better in your hands.

Thanks for your advises guys... I'm going to visit thress music store this week and I'll try a couple of guitar... I was thinking today of my futur strat Today(actually 2 weeks), and I realiza that I had really litlle hands.. so I think I'm going to have to choose a Strat with a Thin neck... I can't wait to have that guitar Also, is there a big difference betweew a maple and a rosewood fingerboard? For the look I prefer the maple neck but I don't know for the sound and playability. Quote from another site: Maple: Very bright and dense, Maple is highly reflective. When used on a fretboard, Maple encourages tremendous amounts of higher overtones and its tight, almost filtered away bass favors harmonics and variations in pick attack. Rosewood: The most common fretboard, Rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores Personally I don't like the maple fretboard too much, it sounds brittle to me, and it misses some of the low end that I like. This is of course just my preference, it's highly subjective. I advise you to go into the store and try at least 5 different strat guitars so you can get a more clearer picture on what are the differences. Do some short AB tests between maple/rosewood and it will become clear to you what the difference is. It's not so hard to spot it. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

I can't tell you what SD is there, it should say on the back of the pickup tho. But I support your decision about getting US Strat, they are awesome guitars.
