Can't get enough of the Randy Rhoads and Kelly/Explorer look. For some reason I've never been fond of Ibanez headstocks, I can't put my finger on why...

Im only just starting to grow fond of the Gibson Flying-V headstock this very week, I must have some deep set issues with headstocks or summit?

My friend's Ibanez pretige model is a fine guitar.

Nice designs though, any word on the specs?

lots of ibanez guitars are made in indonesia, doesnt that mean they are gonna be rubbish? because it is made in indonesia, it isnt really the place youd want your guitar to be made. (do you see any stratocaster indonesia? but you do see stratocaster USA and japan and all sorts

Dude, cheap Ibanez guitars are made in Indonesia...

Just like cheap Fender (Squire) and cheap Gibson (Epiphone) are...and Indonesia doesn't inherintly mean the guitar is rubbish, it means the company was trying to keep cost down to supply great guitars to people on a budget. I still see the Edge (U2) using his Epipone guitars!

There are plenty of Fender models made in Mexico arn't there?

You'd be missing out on some great guitars if you take that sort of attitude sonny jim!

He's right, if you don't want an indonesian made Ibanez, buy a more expensive one. Just because Ibanez outsources their cheap guitars doesn't mean Ibanez sucks. Import guitars aren't all bad, every peice of wood sounds different, and you can find some great sounding, great quality import guitars. Many great players use Ibanez, and Ibanez are proven to be great guitars.
Personally, I don't play Ibanez because all the models I like use basswood for the body, and I've had some bad expiriences with basswood bodies, but if they come out with a guitar with specs I like, I'd definately give it a shot.

the prestige neck on higher end models is amazing--fastest, most comfortable neck i've played on. Definetly for shred.

I don't think they'll be officailly announced till NAMM 07, I think you'll be able to buy them when you start to see them on the official Ibanez site.

Cool!!! blink.gif Anybody knows if there is a model without locking head but with tremolo?

I sold my Rg because I couldn't stand the re-stringing process... now I am feeling like getting an ibanez again... sad.gif

The SA series is really cool, with NO LOCKING NUT. So it's probably alot easier to change strings. But if you're looking for an easier way to string a floating trem, this helped me alot CLICK

Yes, RG's are awesome, one of the best playing guitar models ever made IMO. You could block the tremolo so that the bar only goes down, this thing can do that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiZnipHc1ec&NR
