Would be great if you use the three scales, I thought the BT to be that way but if you manage to do it and get it right could be...pay attention that I added some notes in each part to the harmony of the scales fit into that chord changes.

Thanx for your support Outlaw2112 biggrin.gif

I'm really glad you like it.

We're almost complete.

Enforcer: whole BT

heyoka05: whole BT

Toroso: is going to decide which part to make the solo (but as far as I know is only one part, or two)

Dexxter: whole BT

berko: whole BT

Lian: whole BT

Outlaw2112: whole BT (hehe I convinced to do the whole thing tongue.gif)

ztevie: whole BT

So...I'm gonna try to convince Toroso to make the whole thing or we need just 2 more participants to conclude this stage of the collab.
It will be a large collab hehehe, so far we have 12 min.
Again, that's why I need 2 more people if I don't get Toroso to make the whole thing but just for some piece of the BT.

Ive got 2/3 of it done... just working on the middle part

I should have it done in the next few days, im cheating by looking at the scale while i make the solos though, i dont have the scales memorized...
I just sit there and study the scale and make up my own licks, and when i get them down clean i record them to see what it sounds like, i really like the last harmonic part

when is the deadline for this?

I think the deadline would be near the second week of February or something like that.
You'll have 2 or 3 weeks considering is not easy to work with those scales I think that time would be plenty.

Check the lessons I've made, you could steal some licks from there too smile.gif

I am in Ramiro, and I will take the whole BT smile.gif

Will be quite a challenge for me, but will do my very best to come up with a nice solo.

Could you let us know the actual chord progressions for all 3 parts, as that would be of great help for composing some nice stuff?

Cheers!

I'll give it a kick. Was looking through your series lessons for ideas tho. huh.gif I'm not familiar with Muse so I'll have to look into them for ideas also. I feel like I should be playing something really fast with these backings and I'm not at that level yet. I'll see if I can pull something outta my .....

When I play the napolitean minor over the 2nd section sounds very nice to me , why is that? Or maybe Im doing something wrong ?

Very difficult collab... It's not so easy to get this neapolitan scales... Normally it's easy to transpose between modes, but this one is harder, since you can not relate/translate directly to Aeolian or any other of those modes in another key.
I have serious problems to get anything I improvise to sound decent, I hope I'll get something to pop up before tuesday.
As for coffeeman, neapolitan major sounds more "out of the scale" than the minor? Why is that... I guess it's more important to choose notes throughout than with a normal minor scale for example?
I mean, that some notes within the scale sounds weird sometimes. Usually with a straight blues, you can play pretty much anything within the scale and it will still sound "right"?

Coffeeman: the Neapolitan scales are pretty close one to another. The difference is the 6th (in one is minor and in the other is major) so is like the relation between the major (Ionian) and the Mixolidian sound, they are almost the same but the differ in its 7th (also in one is minor in the other major). This close relation makes that one scale doesn't sound harsh against a different harmonic environment. Is like when you have a maj7 chord and you play a Lydian mode and it sounds really nice and more "natural" but you can also play the Ionian mode of the root of the chord and it sounds nice too although the natural 4th against the maj7 chord would sound as a dissonance and it will be treated as that because the relation of the natural 4th and the major 3rd and the major 7th of the maj7 chord.
Conlusion: I've made the different harmonic scenarios to fit the scales I've told you to play but it doesn't mean that other scales don't fit. If you play a minor scale over the first base you'll see that will fit perfectly. So, it's correct that the neapolitan minor scale sounds ok in the second part.

I hope this will answer your question, if not let me know and I'll try to clarify even more smile.gif
