Dunno if its ok to post it here - I was looking for review on Schecter C7 and found out this guy. The stuff he plays is BEAUTIFUL - i guess its some kind of jazzy song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqWQome7z_s...feature=related

Pleeease smile.gif Does anybody know if it is some song (if yes, what is its name and artist) or if he is just improvising (can anybody help me tab/learn what he is playing?

I figured out its F# major and thats about it.. the first notes seems to me like root-5th-maj 7th-octave and then some lick down the scale. But I am mainly interested in the chords and slides he does there up until 0:25 the rest is beautiful too though...

Anyone, please?smile.gif

I think it's just improvising (very tasty improvising at that). It's true that his playing is bit on the Jazz-side (I can also sense some Vai'ish playing there), and many times jazz-guitarists use a lot of chord inversions. I suggest you search GMC for lessons on chord inversions and jazz licks (and learn some major and minor 7th chords also) and try to apply them the same way as this guy.

When you have learned some of this stuff, try to apply them the same way as this guy. Start off very slowly, start by playing a couple of minor or major 7th chords for example. Try to create a little jazzy "song" like he does by adding some licks in between of the chords.

I'm sorry if I explained this badly, but please ask if you have any other questions smile.gif

He is using a lot of extended Jazz chords such as 9ths, 13ths, and improvising runs in and around - it's mostly Jazz style techniques.

Well, he uses 2 types of jazz techniques

1- Chord melody (in the first part)
2- Walking bass (in the second part)

If I can, later I'll post the progressions he's using.

In case you're interested....
I've made some lessons about those topics.
