Getting this guitar...

http://www.thomann.de/gb/gibson_lpcstbk.htm

If Anyone ever played one or something, please comment, is the price really worth it?

Marcus' opinion would come in handy tongue.gif

There is almost no better sounding guitar on this planet! Who says anything else has not tried a Custom Les Paul!!!!

They are extremely heavy because they use the best quality wood>> the guitar is as loud as an accoustic when played unplugged!!! That's how you know that they used massive quality Mahagony. The built quality is marvellous (handbuilt!) and the humbuckers are very versitaile...

The guitar is very expensive but worth every cent!!! But even a great guitar might not suit you well so TRY BEFORE BUY, especially when you're shelling out 2500 Euros!

Looks the bomb!

I have just ordered a new 2008 standard but these are meant to be even better, are they the traditional construction? ie unchambered and fat necks etc?

Its a lot of money but its a lot of guitar!

Hi

I own this one.
I always wanted to have this one. Was my dream guitar for years.

It sounds good. Has a good neck.

But i have a PaulReedSmith (PRS) (and it wasn't even my dream guitar) that is far more better to play : better neck and lower action. But that is very personal.

So just try this at a local shop and also try others in the same price before buying it: the proof of the pudding is it's taste.

As said earlier in this thread; You just cant go wrong with a Gibson smile.gif
Personally i feel they are a bit overpriced, but there's no doubt that it's off high quality.

Try before you buy.
Also buy Gibsons used, it's like a car - as soon as you roll if off the lot it decreases in value. May as well buy one for 1/2 the price that has a few tiny scratches in it. That's how I could afford my Gibson Les Paul Standard.

If you ask me, no it isn't. BUT that's a matter of taste. If this is the guitar for you then go for it. But you should really play it first. If you ask me it's not a safe bet. I mean it sure is a great guitar. But that's of no use if it doesn't feel right.

Sure man, go for that guitar!
I've played that model and it's just great. I've heard it just plugged into a Marshal CJM 900 and it rocks!!!! Only plugged to that, nothing else.

You can check the videos of the guitar player who's guitar I'm talking in my board where I posted videos.

That's a very nice guitar, I've always wanted a Gibson Custom Les Paul with block inlays like that one. Ebony fretboards rule too.

I'm gonna be so jealous if you buy it laugh.gif

I've only had on les paul in my hands, it wasn't custom but I did like the feeling, felt I could shred better with it, although for purpose of melodies, I'm accostumed to my stratocaster
