I have a C1 + and while I would not call it a BIG problem the G string does go out of tune more than any other. I thought is was just mine. Weird.

Do anyone of you know if there are any other Schecter baritone guitars except "C-1 EX Baritone Blackjack" or if they make them in any other colour than black. I have a black guitar and a black bass so far so I'm not getting another black guitar. tongue.gif

Schecter's Hellcat guitars can be considered Baritone. Their scale is 30", and its tuned to standard tuning...

One Octave lower mellow.gif

Anyways, like everybody else said, Schecters are awesome for the price. My next guitar is definitely gonna be the C1-Classic (been in love with it since I started playing a few years back) in either the Vintage Natural Finish (very rare these days), the Trans Blue Finish, or the newer Deep-Sea green (if it looks good). Also, if you can find the illusive Hollywood Classic, take some time to play it for a while. You might never see it again smile.gif

That's a bit too low. wink.gif

I want to play in B E A D F# B. I'd love to find a schecter C-1 27" scale with EMGs and the black cherry finish. smile.gif

I think that's G strings generally go out of tune more often. I did notice the problem on my epiphone and ibanez. One thing that seems to help a lot is to give the strings a good stretch every now and then.

Mandos, why not a C-7? IIRC they are tunes to B E A D G B E.

I don't really know much about seven string guitars, but I do know that I don't have to alter my playing on baritone. It's just a normal guitar tuned in B instead of E.

Feel free to point me in the direction of a seven string primer. smile.gif

The G string is usually the one that messes with your guitar the most.. i think this is true on every guitar in the universe... laugh.gif

Found this review of the Hellraiser C-1.

Thought Id post it casue It probably the best review I have ever read about a guitar. smile.gif

5 Star-
This Guitar will eat your children!!!!
I was walking down the street the other day when a Schecter Hellraiser decapitated an old lady crossing the street. After that it slaughtered a kid's soccer team with it's awesome screeching high notes. It then laughed maniacally and flew off into the sunset. I knew then that I could not rest until I owned a Hellraiser of my own.

What sort of finish do the Schecters have on the neck? Glossy or satin? The glossy finish on my Epi Les Paul is driving me nuts. My hand is always sticking to it.

On the C-1 Classic it's glossy and tends to get sticky when it is dirty.

Hm I was now able to get a quite brutal and organic rhythm sound out of my c-1 classic. It only sounds good on high volumes so far. But I guess that's just a matter of fiddeling with an EQ/mastering it proberly. But I've got no clue what I've changed. I just know that I turned some knobs when I was a bit drunk rolleyes.gif It's still not very tight or clear sounding but already good for some riffs.

Has anybody played a schecter blackjack atx? It doesn't look as great as the hellraiser (no mapple top and the inlay is not really my thing either) but other wise I guess that it is a great guitar.

Well.. if you want 7 string, go for Hellraser 7 or Jeff Loomis (if you want FR version is up to you:))

I want a seven string, but both the Hellraiser and JL is pretty pricey in my country (around 1500 $). Do you or anyone else have some experience with the Omen Extreme 7? I want a metal/hardrock guitar without anykind of tremolo so I can change tuning more easily. I saw that the Omen Extreme has Schecter pickups, anyone with oppinions about them? Or suggestion for other pickups to change them with smile.gif

If you know which one you want you could order a C-7 blackjack from thomann.de for 680€ or 880 USD. The loomis would be 800€. Afaik the Omen is schecters line of cheaper guitars with bolt on necks etc. Now im thinking about getting a 7 string myself. But I haven't even enslaved 6 strings rolleyes.gif

Hope that helps,
Jonas

Not the ATX but the regular Black Jack. I've played it some.
I had a Revenger as first guitar and I wanted to upgrade. I was initially going for the Black Jack and played it in the store now and then. The neck feels slighly wider or thicker than the Hellraiser. I liked it in some ways but it was not really what I was looking for so I ended up with the Hellraiser. Now I've changed the EMGs to JB/Jazz so my Hellraiser is almost a Black Jack, and the EMGs went into the Revenger and makes a real metal guitar.
