You may remember a few weeks ago I told you all that I was going to Tokyo in November for one week, you may not - and this time I shall forgive you for not paying attention, but not next time tongue.gif

Anyway, my girlfriend went to Goa last year for 2 weeks, just before I met her, and absolutely loved it. She's been desperate to go back and now it looks like we're planning to go for between 4-6months either straight after Tokyo or in January.

What is ridiculous to me however, is that for 6 months in your own beach hut, with air conditioning, en suite, double bed and roof terrace is CHEAPER than ONE week in a 2 star hotel in Tokyo.

I have however found a very small Ryokan (traditional japanese) hotel in the suburbs of tokyo, which has only 3 rooms and simply traditional tatami mats laid on the floor for sleeping. All for £13 a night smile.gif

I envy you a little for travelling around :S

But it's really really cool you're visiting those places, I have friends who have been to Tokyo and India (I'm not sure what part) and they told me amazing things about those places.

It's great to do trips like that, especially if you have chance to stay in one country a bit longer.
If i remember right, Goa was a kind of electro, techno and spiritual party place a few years back. Is this still existing there?

4-6 months!? Hope you'll bring some acoustic or something, or you'll go crazy after a few weeks...

Haven't been to India or Japan, but I've been to China 4 times.
I used to go on those party-trips to mediterranean countries, I think I've been to all countries with a coastline... tongue.gif
But now I have no interest in that, I'd much rather travel to see other cultures and other lifestyles... When you've spent some time in China you will have so many new and strange things happen, so you would think you're on another planet. I'm addicted though, will go back soon.
Would love to travel to India or Japan too, if I just were rich enough and had enough time, I'd travel 6 months every year!

We're planning on going to a place called Palolem. It's essentially a huge beach, with lots of little bars and beach hut places. It's quite hidden from tourist routes and has a reputation for people coming back every year for the season, then returning home to work to afford to pay for another 6 month season.

It looks beautiful too smile.gif

Sorry I haven't replied to anyone else yet, just about to pop out. Back later!

Come meet us if you do! Sounds like we'll be there all season pretty much.

Check where we're staying smile.gif The price equates to a double room at the most expensive being about £13 a night, for two smile.gif

Loads of guitarists just sit on the beach and play all day from what I heard from Charlotte (my gf) and they have live jam's in the bars every night too!

Oh yes I'll be taking an acoustic for sure! I couldn't be away from a guitar that long smile.gif I went on a mini-world travel even a few years back and carried my acoustic on my back everywhere I went. It's the quickest way to make friends on a beach too smile.gif

Unfortunately I didn't have much time in China, and most of it was spent in Beijing, which I wasn't a huge fan of. We did go a couple years prior to the olympics, so a lot of demolishment and building work going on which didn't help I guess.

I did manage to stay in a beautiful place I forget the name off! Fantasic scenery and river, with the hump shaped hills? I ish I could remember the name...
