Is anybody interested in doing some kind of study of the same book? This book starts with 3 note licks, and moves through 4, 5 & 6 note licks all in the I IV V progression. All in the key of A (both Major & minor) I though it might be fun to post audio or video of us as we work our way through the book.

nothing too serious but just to keep us practicing and we could give feedback to each other?

We could give a time for anyone intersted to get the book (I got a copy at the library). What do ya think? cool.gif

I'm in! I've read a little about the book, and it looks like something we could really benefit from!

I don't think it's free for sharing on the internet, so I'm gonna order it from Amazon. Costs about $16 Well spent money imo ^^

I think for anyone who thinks they might be interested maybe check the library if you have one close to where you live. I checked my first copy from the library and liked it enough that I bought it. You can look at some of the content online also here
http://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Lick-Factory-...7930734X#reader

If that helps.

Looks like Canis you're up for it yeah?! Any body else< I've got the book already so if anyone wants to join in let us know...
Maybe we can keep this thread going for another week or so, to give anybody a chance to jump in. Canis, if you want to go ahead and order your book, may be can try to start something in a couple of weeks? Maybe sooner if you want and nobody else jumps in... cool.gif

Outlaw if you want to order that's great... or we can also just share what we're doing as we do it with out posting the book, it's just 3 or 4 lick notes at first, it wont be hard to figure it out I think. Or anybody else if you're interested let me know...

It is good idea to do that. I think you must have some backing track for that, because it's jazz, and you need to understand harmonic progressions beneath every lick. You play backing chords, and that repeat the lick again again, that way you learn harmonic progression, and you learn how to USE the lick, in which situations to apply it. You also develop ear. If you want to buy book with licks, buy one that has audio CD with it.

Good luck!

Thank you Vasilije,
I was thinking of maybe recording the backing track... and uploading it, but do you think that we could try a Jazz, a rock and maybe even country picking style recordings and work the licks over each to see how it sounds? unsure.gif
