Hi

Latest video of the timing exercise.

I think I am ok with everything up to the 16 notes, hope this comes over in the vid.

I didn't record the 16th note triplets because although I can play along with Ivans video fine, on my own with the metronome I get lost because Im not sure how to count it.

For example

With eighths I have got into the habbit of counting one and two and three and four and one and ......

With the eighth triplets I count one and a two and a three and a ..........

With 16ths Im counting one ay and a two ay and a three ay and a .......

But with the 16th triplets at the end I am lost as to how to count it and therefore keep in time

Any Ideas how to do this?

By the way can I just check that you are ok still to continue with this. I realise that the MTP thing has morphed into something other than we started out on. Much more formal and pressured now from what I can see.

For me, what we are doing is great and perfect for what I want in terms of improvement as there is no pressure with regard to pace etc., and I do really appreciate your time and comments and help. But I do realise that it takes time and effort on your part.

It might not show to you but your direction has improved my playing greatly. I have gone from someone who could strum a few chords but didnt have a clue about any aspect of lead playing to being reasonably comfotable to noodling around in Am pentatonics with a much improved left hand technique.

Anyway what I am trying to say is thanks for your help I appreciate it and I hope we can continue.

Now its back to Emirs lesson and those damm pulloffs!! Vids coming soon!.

Well sure we can continue with our MTP! No reason to stop and our pace is fine. As long as it works for you and I then thats all that matters, right? smile.gif

I'm at work so I'll comment on the other stuff later when I watch the video.

You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

Hell yeah man! You have made amazing progress with the metronome. Your getting it! Their were a few ruff spots but they will fix themselves soon.

Lets move on to the next CAGE pattern or two depending one what you feel you can handle. Practice and upload clips when you can. Just skip the 16th trips if your having problems for now. We will come back to thoses.

How is the other stuff coming along?
Your doning great Tony!! Keep it up! smile.gif

PS: I want to see (hear) that new guitar you ordered tongue.gif

Hi Jeff

Hope you are well.

Appologies for the delay in getting back to you. As you know my schedhule is tight at times but I have been practicing every chance I get. Very frustrating as I would love to practice more!

Will try to get some vids up at the weekend for you to look at. Ivans scales thing is going well for me as is the Marcus lesson just the big stretch near the end causing a problem. Emirs lesson conntinues to prove difficult!

Hopefully I can try to get a lot of practice in between now and dec 6 because I wont be able to for the remainder of december. Leading a group tour to Florida and then relatives visiting us in Spain for Christmas, so busy time coming up.

Im going to try to use the time away from the guitar to read up on some theory and to plan my next phase of porgress.

How are you doing with the lessons you were learning, would love to see a vid

Best wishes.
