After about two weeks of occasionally looking at the GMC site, I finally took the leap of faith and registered. Hmm where to start... My names Eddie; I'm 17, and a freshman at Central Florida. I started playing the guitar about seven months ago when I purchased a fat strat. Clapton and stevie ray opened my eyes to what a guitar can do, so of course I'm passionate about the blues. My stepdad was a guitarist, but my real inspiration for starting came out of looking for a way to express myself. My practice routine before this consisted of playing 4-5 scales to a metronome and playing a few tabs(painting by numbers) before getting frustrated and jamming chords until my guitar was out of tune. I can see that all slowly fading away. I look forward to progressing as a musician and meeting some great people.. cool.gif

I also have a Fat Strat. Great guitar!! Looking forward to seeing you around.

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato
