Uh Anybody Know?, Minor in Music

I'm doing my B.Sc but I wanted to do my minor in music no matter what. I've been self taught so I have no actual theory behind me. I just learned stuff from here and there. Anyways basically since it's a minor they don't have many requirements however they are asking me to come in to do a theory and ear-training tests. I don't know whether to be scared or not. I'm not exactly perfect pitched ... deaf would be more accurate from the metal I jam to each week haha. But anyways If anybody has or is doing something similar please would you mind sharing what is the curriculum on the test. ... I'm reading and wondering ..oh boy ... "You are required to take the following placement exams: Theory and Ear-Training & Sight-Singing"... Oh and if anyone can show me how I could improve those things I'd greatly appreciate it! Use this website for some training. http://www.musictheory.net/ About the sight singing you need to know how to read basic notes. Try above website and sing some scales. Then find some simple notations on internet (grade 1-3) and learn it on the guitar then try to sing it. You need to recognise intervals. They will probably test you in interval recognition (thirds, fifths, octaves etc...). With this learned you can sing some simple melodies while looking at the notes. Note duration is also important, (eight notes, quarter notes, half notes...). You don't need complex syncopated structures if that's a minor type of course. You will learn it there. Emir posted a link for you in previous post, thats that website I am referring to as well. If you like reading I suggest Mark Levine's Jazz Theory Book. Please get it, go trough first couple of chapters it will unlock a lot of things regarding theory and harmony. It also has song list for intervals, but all Jazz songs - still could be of great help !
