Ill work on them tomorrow... Ive kinda strayed away from my practice routine, havent done it properly since thursday..
I had my son with me this past weekend so i didnt practice friday or saturday night and sunday night i spent working on
pedja's collab... and tonight i had to spend some time with my girlfriend.

Hopefully tomorrow ill be back on track, funny thing is that when i dont practice for a day or two in my head i feel
like im hurting my playing.. like im regressing or something instead of progressing

I think i might restructure my routine to 60 minutes instead of 90 minutes to make sure i get everything in..

Im also going to buy a new soundcard and see if thats the problem with my audio recording...

thanks monte

Don't stress out about your practice routine John....we all have life to deal with and a lot of times guitar has to wait. You should come up with two different routines and do them every other day. Works really well for me. Don't worry about regressing....you aren't. You sound like me. I worry if I miss a day of practice that somehow my fingers will forget what to do...ridiculous really!! tongue.gif laugh.gif

heres a metronome video... im feeling much more comfortable with the metronome, but i still need more work at it...
and a video of those licks in the phrygian collab played with the metronome..

I had a few days where i didnt play with the metronome too much cause i was just in the mood to jam and learn some new riffs... but im back on schedule now

I still havent figured out the audio with the webcam so the guitar sounds bad with the webcam mic...

John....you are still rushing the Phrygian beginner licks. Watch the video back and count along with it and you'll notice that the first 2 beats you are locked in and then you start rushing. Your metronome video was really good. Your rushed the quintuplets a little bit but not until the very end of the run. You are doing a good job though. I want you to watch your phrygian video a few times and just count along so you can see where you are rushing it and you can consciously think about that when you are practicing it. It isn't that you can't play the lick....you are just rushing it. Keep working...you are definitely making progress. smile.gif

everything is going good... Im working on joes d dorian collab at the moment and have a solo written,
I just need to clean it up and speed it up in a few parts..

Im feeling alot more comfortable with the metronome... I want to thank you for pushing that on me,
sometimes i get off practice schedule and just play guitar at night (noodling around), but im on schedule at least 4 nights a week.

I could use some help tabbing out stuff in guitarpro.... Im not the best at knowing the timing on everything.. more timing issues, ill send you the solo ive written for joes collab and see what you think..

do you still get on skype?

thanks monte

I was thinking that maybe we could work on a song as a mtp group together?

maybe we all pick a song and make a cover of it or something? kinda like the virtual bands do?

Since we all like different tunes and Dan and Jer love metal why don't we collab on this:

Dan says that this dude didn't go on to sing for Opeth after his solo gig on Sesame street ended.....I say he did....Jer is undecided...What do you think John?

I do get on skype just not all the time....Do you need me to get on? I could help you out with guitar pro for sure. I'm not a pro with it but I am pretty decent. Glad to hear you are getting pretty regimented with your practicing. If you can stay focused four days a week and use the other days to "noodle" I think that is great....should improve your playing A LOT. The noodling is where you are gonna come up with your own stuff....which should be the goal.

As far as a cover collab I'd totally be into it....maybe we could even get Jer to come out of retirement to help us out....he and Dan are bad!@# rhythmn players and much better at recording then I am. If you guys want to do it pick a tune and I'm in!!.....provided I can get my computer working again!! mad.gif tongue.gif
