It is very interesting tuning indeed,
I tried is few times and some things are much easier to play once you "switch" to it properly. Problem is regular barre chords we use to play with standard tuning and also "open" chords, you might wanna find new open chords. -------------------- Youtube

Would you say it's worth to try or it will be more confusing? I can't say anything in your name, give it a shoot, it's fun. -------------------- Youtube

interesting tuning for the guitar. Some things might be easier to play as Muris said but could be tricky for the other stuff. I think that violin uses this tuning.

I've tried out quite a few alternate tunings over the years, and i actually have 1 or 2 songs in this tuning. You can get some quite interesting ideas out of it.
My favourite alternate tuning would be CGCGCE -------------------- Guitars: Schecter Stiletto Classic, Jackson SLSMG, Ibanez RG-380 Japan, Gibson Les Paul Studio
Amp: Marshall JMP-1 -> Rocktron Velocity 100 -> Marshall JCM-900 Lead 4x12 FX and stomps: T.C Electronics G-Sharp, Korg SDD-1200, Emma Transmorgrifier, BYOC Tribooster, GGG Green Ringer, Dinosaur Overdrive, Voodoo Lab SuperFuzz, Sovtek Bassballs, Line6 Tap Tremolo, EHX Screaming Bird. ___________________________________________________ My Lessons! Still so much to discover in standard tuning that i never saw the need to try different tunings. CGCGCE gives indeed some new possibilities i guess. Why did you used the 4ths tuning for your songs, any specific reasons for that? When i saw this video i was just starting to think, why tuning in 4ths is not getting much more popular in todays world of shred and improvised music. A lot of player on electric guitar hardly play open chords. No real reason actually I just like to try out different tunings because it always helps me to get some fresh ideas i wouldnt have thought up in regular tuning. Especially when i'm running low on song-ideas. -------------------- Guitars: Schecter Stiletto Classic, Jackson SLSMG, Ibanez RG-380 Japan, Gibson Les Paul Studio

Stanley Jordan uses that tuning. I recommend you get the clinic and his records
Here it's a part of the clinic -------------------- |

It's more of a improvisational tuning than anything in my opinion, as it just makes everything a bit easier to think of.
But still super cool. |

Spot on, 6 string basses get C as 1st string
and it IS easier to think that way, all shapes are the same. -------------------- Youtube
