Hi,

I really want to learn this, usually I like alot of heavy riffs but this one is soo cool.

I was trying all of yesterday to get that nice creamy smooth tone with the wah but it just wasnt happening, I checked CustomTone and alot are really heavy gained tones.

Does anyone have a tone really similar to this so I can learn it properly?

Hope someone can help me

ZAKK WYLDE! \m/

It maybe that your vibrato isn´t as good as zacks and this might be why you will never get (exactly) the same tone. But I hope someone has got a good preset, mate. I´m sorry that I dont smile.gif

I learned that song some time ago and here are my thoughts on it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6LotiAcF1w

-Use a marshall amp modelling on your Pod (hot JCM800 or alike), dial in a lot of gain, lows at 10, mids at 13 and high at 12 - add an overdrive modeling (called screamer I belive) to the sound to get more sutain and gain
-The wah pedal is always pressed down to get a high end boost, he only tips it back and forth again for a bend (giving the bend a huge tone)
-The beginning is played with the volume down for a cleaner tone, you can see at 0.42 seconds how he rolls the volume up for the shreddy parts

MOST IMPORTANT PART: the tone comes 90% from your fingers!!! IT might be possible that you could have the exact same gear and settings as Zakk in this vid but still don't sound anything like him. A perfect setting won't get you to the tone, it will just help a little.
His playing style is very unique; he picks very hard and his vibrato is very wide, fast and strong. There are so many things in the playing style that make a player sound like he does. The gear is just the rest 10%...

A good example for this is a vid on youtube (can't find it right now) where joe Satriani plays his song ''surfing with the alien'' on a 10 watt practive amp and a squier strat, AND HE STILLS SOUNDS LIKE ON THE RECORDS!!!!
You see now the reason might not be the exact tone of your Pod, it is most likely your playing style that differs from Zakks!
