Finally! smile.gif
I really like that program.
But I have a problem with one point in the rating system.

It's the rating of feel. I don't see any point how somebody could rate my impressions or what I feel when playing a piece of music.
And why is something like posture in the term of feeling ? I don't get that point.
I understand that confidence point.
But that's something different than feeling, at least imo.

In general, I don't like the term feeling in guitar playing.
There are so much people out there, who say that Petrucci doesn't have feeling.
He plays over 20 years and you can't say that somebody who plays for 20 years, doesn't have any passion (which is a feeling) for his instrument.
I really never understood that feeling thing in terms of playing guitar.
The only tunes in that I ever interpreted/hear feeling were Shawn Lanes Epilogue for Lisa and Lavendells Unborn.

Just my 2 cents wink.gif

I just noticed that the placement of this REC-subforum in the Instructors Corner is a bit against the guidelines. biggrin.gif -> "See what the instructors do on their own turf (read only forum)." laugh.gif

Well you can post a thread but only instructors can reply to it, so it's fairly read only wink.gif

Don't get hung up on the exact word used to describe this, look at the description instead - its about how comfortable you are playing it, not whether or not you are portraying a particular feeling - in your example, Petrucci gets 5/5 for feel when he plays because he looks in control and comfortable playing, he gives you the feeling that he is born to do this.

Maybe we can find a better word for this but that is the intention. Its about your feel for the piece.

This may sound stupid.
But why don't just call it control then ?
I will think a bit more, maybe I come up with a better word wink.gif

Maybe that would work, but its a bit more than that - its control, fluidity, confidence, comfort - its hard to describe but you know it when you see it. Its the feeling you get when you see Muris playing any lesson of level 7 or below - absolute calm, comfort, even when playing fast stuff - he would get a 5. When Muris plays something like Extreme Neoclassic though, you can tell that he is playing closer to his limit and looks just a tiny bit less comfortable so would get a 4.9 wink.gif

It's about being in the moment and being one with your guitar to get a little metaphysical.

I always thought of "feel" regarding the way you make others feel when listening to you play rather than what one feels, although they might share many aspects if you are really good.

WooHoooooo!!! Glad to see it launched. Keep in mind guys, as Andrew stated, we are looking to build on this program so it is work in progress. Don't worry too much atm about the way it is graded. Through a lesson up and see what the Instructors think. It's not a competition but rather another tool for improvement. smile.gif

A lot of you have already had feeback on lessons in the "uploads" section of GMC. Now go get some pay dirt for the time spent!

Very nice take Chris, I rated it as well.

I would like to suggest that all participants also post the link to the lesson they are covering.
It will probably save some time while rating.
Would that be possible?

Actually, this is already in the guidance. smile.gif Members are supposed a link to lessons they cover.
