Dear all,

It gives me great pleasure to announce the rollout of the GMC REC program. For those of you that don't know what this is, we have been discussing it in the forums for a little while now. The basic idea is that you can gain a forum qualification by submitting a video of you playing a GMC lesson. It will be graded by the instructors, and as you grow in experience and level of playing you can get successively higher and higher titles, evolving from a "Learning Chord Basher" to an "Ultimate Guitar God". We hope that one day this will form the basis for a GMC diploma of some sort, but for now, it allows people to gauge and measure their progress objectively, and build up a validate record of their abilities.

We have a new forum for the REC program here, and there are full instructions on how to submit videos for grading here. If you are interested in the criteria the instructors will be using to grade you, they are described here.

The final part is that we will be maintaining a league table of all GMC:ers in the program so you can see at a glance how you rate against other GMC members, and you will also have an individualized page that keeps a record of your achievements - a great thing to show to a new band who might want to audition you for instance smile.gif

So what are you all waiting for - lets get this show on the road!

It's completely optional, so you don't have to enter if that kind of competition doesn't suit you smile.gif

C'mon - who's going to be the first to get a video up for grading???

I'll upload a couple vids later for sure smile.gif

For all members out there, remember: if you have recorded any GMC lesson in the past and uploaded it to youtube, you can already submit your takes pasting the link at the REC forum!

Just a quick one.. Can u use a Web Cam only for recording, or is the sound quality too bad?

You certianly can! smile.gif Best is if you first experiment with the placement of your amp etc (usually it's best to have it very close to your web camera's microphone)

Is there some sort of list of the titles availible?

Btw. how is the REC level being calculated? Arithmetic average of diff. level of all lessons?

With that, it would be kinda unfair towards begginers - they will have to outhweigth a much bigger number of low level lessons they will learn from start, or just ignore posting low level lessons, thus losing REC EXP.

Ohhh just noticed.... All hail our ultimate guitar god Muris ohmy.gif:O:O biggrin.gif
