Roger that. But who do we call on when there is a need to fight back?
You know who.

I just had to jump back in on this cause that is just the way I am.
Uh hum, CNN in third place in prime time for first time

And here is the money quote:
Fox remains on a mountain above its two closest competitors, with its prime-time audience in March more than that of MSNBC and CNN combined.

Hmm, doesn't seem to be too much of a running joke to me.

FOX sucks and so does CNN lol

America doesn't have a single "on the fence" newscast.

oh, and don't forget. It is going on right now. Turn on all the lights in your house for Human Achievement Hour. There is still half an hour to go in my time zone. ;-)

Well I can certainly agree with that. Just because someone or something is popular does not mean they will be doing a good job.

Honestly, I get most of my news on the net. If you just read it, it seems more fair if you go to the right place. And it is quicker.

Every canadian I know is proud that we have no military. That's what makes us Canada.

You clearly have a much more optimistic view of what is in store for the world in the next few decades than I have, with 10+ billion people struggling for increasingly scarce resources in an ecologically ravaged world.

I used to, in the early years they were pretty entertaining. But I quit watching all news 4 or 5 years ago, it is a waste of time, they all are dopey. I have not missed a thing that I needed to know.

Anymore I read detective novels, classics from the 20th century. Agatha Christie, Chandler, Ross MacDonald (my favorite), and Rex Stout (Nero Wolfe), stuff like that. That stuff makes you more intelligent. TV makes you more stupid. I used to read a lot of history, but now have read so much of that, that little is new, so I read classic detective novels. Kill your TV, life is better.

I am happy today, Mizzou went down in flames, always brings joy to my heart. Actually I liked the team and coach, but is is traditional to hate Missouri above all else, being a born and bred Jayhawk.

I need to read more, that's for sure, I mean other things.

I'm not a huge Mizzou fan or anything but as they kept winning I started watching. They had a good run and it was entertaining. I am familiar with the traditional, all in good fun hatred between Mizzou and KU fans. My wife has 2 close cousins that graduated from KU.

It's all in engineering, things get more efficient as time goes. And also, as the earth becomes over populated, population growth begins to level off. Humans have such a monopoly over the earth we might have trouble with this, but eventually things will become fine.

I think, if we need to worry about anything, it's jobs like skilled labour that things like machinery and company profit margins are destroying. Right now, because of this, every damn person at your company is disposable (meaning, every one can do anyones jobs with very little training). When you replace humans with technology, skilled labour job security goes out the window....and gives the employer every reason in the world to treat the employees like dirt (IE - Asian work force), and installs the ideology of "don't like it?, go work for someone else, we don't need you here". This is one way I think technology is driving us behind as well as forward.

Man....I can sure bullsh*t when I'm home from the bar biggrin.gif

Well Sicraigery I think that what You are talking about is already a reality. There are few people in a company that are really needed, because they know how certain mechanisms ( don't have to physical machines, but some ways the company is working for example ), and sometimes it is a problem when they want to leave ( but than You always should have two people that can do the same job, so the older worker will teach the younger one how to do everything before his retirement ). Than there are people that are worth very little for the company. You can replace them often, as teaching one how to do his job is a matter of days-weeks. Considering that companies always search for more savings --> they try to have the most job done by the smallest number of workers possible --> there are always more "qualified" workers on the market than the companies need... This is at least how it works in some types of business I know...

It took me a second until i saw the Fox News logo. All makes sense now.

The people on that network, not all but most, look and act like they would be on some tabloid talk show....which is most of Fox News so...never mind.
