Hello everybody smile.gif !
So first, i'm french so maybe you won't understand somethings tongue.gif .
Second, i've seen Emir Hot and others guitarists do an acute note on a "grave" cord and I'd know how they can do this ohmy.gif .
For example, Emir Hot's lesson "Symphony X":

PH
W
E S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S Q
------------------------------------|---------------------------------|
------------------------------------|---------------------------------|
------------------------------------|---------------------------------|
------------------------------------|---------------------------------|
------------------------------------|--------------------2-3-2--------|
--0--0-0-1p-0-0-0-4p-0-0-0-0-0-1p-0-|--1p-0-0-0-4p-0-0-0-------5-4----|

the last "4" is very acute. How can Emir Hot or others guitarists do this please blink.gif ?
Thanks, bye smile.gif !

Gabriel has many great lessons. Generally not too difficult to play in some fashion, and really nice compositions.

edit: of course there are other lessons, I put Gabriel in to illustrate that you can still have a tone that is not shrill, and play them. Actually Hot has nice tone, I don't remember him ever being shrill. Pavel had some great compositions, but I think that tone is awful in that example, like finger nails on a chalkboard.

Use the pickup by the bridge. The reason for that is not because it is not just because it is more treble, it is primarily because the neck pickup tends to often be centered close to the node of an overtone, do it will be a dud if you hit a pinch harmonic in such a circumstance.
