I don't really think it's anything but I figure i should make sure.

When I play guitar I normally do it at a computer so i can get to tabs/backings/guitar pro if i start to write something etc. The laptop is on a stand that i normally keep sort of low and the speakers aim pretty close to the pickups of the guitar and sometimes the music im playing along to comes through the amp. Like if I stop playing I can hear it.

Is this normal?

seems like your pickups pick up other sonds which should not be...maybe they are not isolated properly!

First let someone with more experience take a look at the pickups to see if they really are the problem, and then they need to be wax potted (sealed) again to make them silent; but I don't know how to do that -.-

Well yes it is normal in once sense, because pickups are picking up the sound caused by the speakers. On the other hand, it is not too normal if it is a pronounced noise. One simple solution would be not to play close to your speakers.

Yes it's possible. You should be able to place the speaker of a tiny mp3 player close to your pickups and get it amplified through your amp for example. smile.gif Which is more or less the same as you describe

In addition to this, I have a fellow guitar player that has some model of Dimarzio hot pickup in the bridge. He would then amplify it on the amp, using OD channel, and then do some growling with his mouth close to the pickups. You can imagine the sound coming from the amp! laugh.gif
