The RG. The Razorback wink.gif doesn't look that good in person, at least it didn't to me. The flame graphic seemed so be quite pixely. Not comparable to a proper airbrushed graphic. Also I think they are quite expensive for what you get. But then again it's not a bad guitar. If you like it, get it.

One more thing, the calculating cost of importing something is not that simple. Often you'll find out that there are quite some weird taxes. It can however still be worth it if you get the shipping country to subtract the vat etc. Just watch out or there might be nasty surprises. wink.gif

Don't get the Razorback!

I wanted one too about a year ago but when I played it I wasn't too impressed: Bad printed graphics when you look close, A BAD TREMOLO (liscensed trem that goes out of tune pretty fast, no original floyd). Oh and the case is rubbish, it soooo cheap and badly fabricated...

Other than the graphics and the bad tremolo, it is an alright guitar - not really good and not really bad but definitely not worth the money you have to pay for it. The pickups are good if youre into metal and the wood and built quality is decent but you can get much better guitars like the Ibanez you mentioned (great when you swap the factory piuckups) or an nice schecter guitar (you get an original floyd rose tremolo + better wood and pickups for a lower price)

If it really has to be a dean razorback then try these two models, they are new for 2009 and have at least an original floyd rose, check out thr Slimebolt or the Blades V

i dont understand much the problem is i wont get the chance to play on either of them because im left handed so i have to order it abroad.
it just seemes like if i have them both for the same price than mahogany is suppose to be better than basswood and i heard the rg pickups were pretty lousy. floyd rose is suppose to be better than the edge pro.
the only things that go for the rg on paper is 24 jumbo frets and the looks(donu kill me for saying that but common the explosion is a bit vulgar).

i feel much better after reading what you had to say about it cause truth be told it didn't feel right anyways. since i can see you been around guitar shops do you know where can i get a complete list of every guitar that comes left handed its getting pretty frustrating to get all worked up about a guitar i cant play.
i thought about a schecter but the thing is it says it has a fat neck and im not so fund of that some people say its just for them and some people hate it so im afraid to buy it without using it.

The Edge Pro is a Floyd Rose (Licensed) and is one of the best imo, along with Schaller and Gotoh. The replaceable knife edges are such a good idea and the feel of the trem is exceptionally smooth. Better than the original I'd say
Just because a FR is licensed doesn't mean it's worse than the original - they can be just as good or even better. The prices reflect this - you can get a rubbish licensed FR at about £30 or you can pay the top dollar for a really good licensed one at around £200

Are you sure? Wikipedia says "Ibanez Edge is Ibanez's Floyd Rose variant. There are 5 versions including a pro version. Starting with Edge III and Edge Pro, these are considered as mere derivative, and are not licensed from Floyd Rose." wink.gif

Well..yes, but a licensed FR simply means it's made by a company other than Floyd Rose. I think Ibanez used to hold a license from FR but when it expired they just made their own range, with modifications/improvements and these are now the Ibanez trems. So, yeah my mistake tongue.gif
Still, I'd say Edge Pro is a lot better than the FR Original, but that's just my opinion smile.gif

EDIT: In all my praise I forgot to mention one little niggle with the Edge though, the push-in trem bar has a couple of notches where you can fit plastic washers to stiffen up the (trem) arm - these seem to wear down a little too quickly for my liking and create a wobble. But hey, that's my only niggle.

Schaller makes licenced floyd, and it's better than original floyd.
I have tried a Razorback many times, it's a cool guitar and works fine.

I'd rather get the RG though. Much more versatile guitar, has 3 pickups too.

My friend has a Razorback (the expensive one $1500 cdn, not the cheap one) and I have a prestige RG.

They play totally different man, the necks are not even close. The Razorback neck is fairly thick compared to my RG, but the fretboard is a bit narrower (I'm not sure that term to use, but I mean the strings are closer together). Also, they sound different too. Both good, but I agree, all in all, I prefer my RG.
