Does anybody know if you can use Pod Farm as just a plug-in without using the UX1/2???

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

So does that mean that the disc that came with my UX1 will not work? sad.gif

I don't know , have you got the VST version of POD Farm with it ?? VST version is a plugin of POD Farm which you can use in any recording software.

I didn't get anything except gearbox for my ux2 and I can't use it without the toneport device.

See on the CD if there is an installation of POD Farm VST plug in...

You will need something like this I suppose though : http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ELAID=263735725

I don't believe they give it for free...

I got the VST plugin with my UX2 as well as the stand-alone version. The UX1 should also have the VST plugin with it Monte.

If you do plan to get it, check out other modelers in the price range, there may be some cool options available.

I can recommend ReValver II and Revalver III. I believe they also offer a cheaper light edition. I tried all modelling vsts. Guitar Rig, Waves GTR, Amplitude... revalver is simply the best. Nothing comes close. Not even Overloud.

Definitely check out Guitar Rig 3 XE. It is a shortened version of a real Guitar Rig, and costs about the same as POD Farm. IMO, Guitar Rig has some great features, and I find it more useful than POD Farm. I used POD Farm and Gearbox before with Toneport UX1, and although they have good tones, I've found GR3 much more useful, and it has more low end then POD Farm/Gearbox.
In the end, I think you will be happy with both choices really. You can make good tones from every modeler if you spend some time with it tweaking, learn how the control respond etc..
