Voted for you man, as well as Ivan and Bol's band. Still, something strange about those numbers, I would be pissed too! Good luck, let's hope they don't wait til half way through when you are leading by 5000 votes and remove some legitimate ones like last time.. wacko.gif

Not again! ohmy.gif Hope they fix this soon Emir, I really don't know why they do it like this, but as other say, probably it is spam. Since you are in the business, perhaps you can teach them a trick of two about their own site man laugh.gif

I wrote an e mail yesterday explaining about it. I know they will not bother much as that's how things work in that country but at least I can say that I warned them in case something worse happens.

You should all stop voting for a day or two until they bring it back to normal. I would hate to see them mess you like in the 1st round Emir.
That voting system blows smile.gif

Emir, I've contacted regarding this spam issue in the first round, cause I had some bad experiences with some other previous online voting deals, and they did returned the mail, but after a while, like 1-2 weeks. So possibly some more waiting should be done, and then you can try forwarding the mail again. If it is spam, than someone is undermining you, probably the competition. Of course there is a chance that the numbers are true and you really did get those votes.

I cannot understand how they cannot implement a code that will determine if someone is voting twice. Sure, voting can be done by changing IP (for example ISP often puts a dynamic IP for it's ADSL users), so reconnecting & erasing cookies could easily enable spam, but there must be a way around this. Good example would be something like Guitar Idol voting, where you have to register. This is not too much trouble for users, and it will be a lot harder to spam with this feature implemented.

If you have some sort of a solution to this problem I would love to hear it. I think giving fair deal to every band is the only way to go, and spam is just not cool and when someone vote rating is increased by 700%-1000% this is a clear sign that something is wrong with the voting process. sad.gif

Thanks Ivan. I wrote to them all about the programing techniques. They will probably say "this idiot is teaching us how do do our job" but that's how those brains work. They think they are the smartest people in the world but in fact it is quite opposite smile.gif

They are now using cookies, javascript and ASP for voting and (no)security. That type of scripting can be broken by a 10 yeard old kid. You just switch off cookies in your browser and keep clicking refresh. That way you can vote all day if you want. Now I can easily create a script that will automaticaly vote all day for me smile.gif

They should use PHP and $_SESSION global for tracking ip addresses and of course storing votes for some real statistics. There are many security issues to be implemented in the script but PHP is the only right way to go.

I told them all this and I am just waiting for an attack back about "who do I think I am" hahaha

So yeah, that's what happened.

All of Emir's votes were washed away, I voted No. 54. This surely is a very equal competition. Just like in Hungary. It's working the same just like here. dry.gif
