Hi, GMC'ers. I'm Mads.

I just registered today and thought I'd stop in and introduce myself.

I'm 16, situated in Copenhagen (which is the capital of Denmark) and I've been playing since August last year, when I enrolled in a combined music and pre-High School programme of sorts and really got into playing guitar. I had been playing the bass in excess of about 1½ years prior to that.

I've been lurking around the site for a while, but only just registered today. I hope to learn how to play new genres, improve my technique, feeling and just get inspired by all of the different kinds of music here, so there are no specific goals except 'being a better guitarist', which is just about as loose as any term will get wink.gif

As those of you who'll come to talk to me will notice over time, I'm also a sucker for gear: I currently own 2 basses, 2 guitars, three amps (two bass amps, and one guitar amp that I've got on a trial period) and all sorts of tidbits... And I've been playing guitar for what, nine months or so, and bar one amp it's all gear that is gigworthy - I'm beginning to accept that I've got a problem going here biggrin.gif

Anyway, that's me rambling on. I'm looking forward to my stay here, and hope to get the chance to talk to some of you smile.gif

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato
