Hey all,

I have a 35-40 sec guitar clip and I want to have a backup track for that. I am not a drummer so struggling to put the drum layout myself. So, it would be great if any of you who are masters of drum programming help me out. smile.gif

If anyone is interested please drop in a line and I will post my clip.

Thanks,
m

Hey Muris,

Yes, just the drums for now, although the chord would be good too. smile.gif The scale is basically Cm and Cm (harmonic) ..

Tempo : 120

Timing 4/4

I do not know much theory so please excuse me. I think it is not sounding good with regular beating so I have tried some army marching type of beat. Hopefully, you can help me here. smile.gif

Let me know if you need anything. I have attached both with drums and without drums version. This is a very rough take. I still need to practice it so please bear with me.

Thanks,
maharzan

Cool idea man, sounds very pirate like to me.
I like the drums you wrote actually, it just needs a cool bass line to tie drums and guitars together...

Hi David,

Thanks. I still need to learn more about drums, timing / velocities / fills. I think it is little monotonous. smile.gif Perhaps Muris can come up with a varying beat. smile.gif

Cheers!

I think slightly faster tempo could sound a bit better. If you like this groove style (like in the beginning) then try to use some country groove as a starting point. I think you should first lay down the basic drums pattern, and then try to play your lead tune as precisely as you can so they are perfectly synced together. Then put out the parts of the groove that you don't need and make some feels, one by one, and later create bass track that will really make this interesting as David suggested.

Thanks Ivan for your suggestions. I don't have much idea on country music. I will see what I can find.

Regarding tempo, I can't play the last part when its faster. You can even notice that not all notes ring at this speed (as of now). smile.gif

Yep, I just tried the basic metronome type of drums (only bass drum layout) and then recorded the song.. and later filled the snares but came out it was not in sync (or drums may not have fitted exactly)..

Still need to learn a lot of theory and practice, practice.. smile.gif

Thank you Tyler. Perhaps we can collaborate on future projects. I have quite many compositions (pop / rock / alternative songs (local language)). I am looking forward to learn more theory and practicing guitar here and start composing instrumentals too. You are all welcome to give me a hand then. smile.gif Form a virtual band ? wink.gif
