Line 6 Pod 2.0 Or Xt

I am thinking about getting either the 2.0, or the XT. I'm finding that the XT is about $100.00 (US) more than the 2.0. Is the extra 100.00 worth it? Otherwise, if that's a bit too big a cost the X3 or if there's any earlier model that can be used as a soundinterface. I'm using my X3 as such and don't have a "real" soundcard so to speak. I will mainly be using it to practice with. I am (mostly) a rhythm player, and just want something that will give me 3-5 good, solid rhythm tones. I do not need 100 different effects either. I can't stand modeling tones, a nice little practice amp with headphone out would do the same if you ask me... If you have to go for a pod, try to get the newest possible, xt or even x3; not only do they feature more tones, effects and stuff but they also SOUND a lot better because of the better processors. When I was searching, I also looked at the POD X3 and POD XT and found them to bring to much (way to much effects and amp models for me). With my POD 2.0, I only use 2 models and the delays (together with the reverb) and get all the sounds I want/need I've had the BOSS GT-8 and got good sounds out of it but it was way to complicated (so much knobs ) and sold it because if you're on the go you might want to change some parameters real quick and it was too much hassle. Also if you look around you can get one for peanuts (secondhand). I bought mine in a store and payed 125€ for it but for the sound I'm getting it's an absolute steal! If your gonna check it out, and the store has a Roland Cube 15, I would recommend these settings: Bass: almost all the way down, Mid: almost all the way up and Treble: almost all the way down.
