step one: navigate to GMC home page

step two: enter gibberish into the search lesson well for example "fksdhafdjk"

step three: click quick search

step four: observe that all of the 1600+ lessons were returned in the search

anyone else get this?

I'll try entering my own random gibberish...

... nope it didn't return my forum post history wink.gif - just got a 'no lesson found' message.

Also tried copy and pasting your example and still got the 'no lesson' message. Not sure why you're getting all the video result returned for you. Kris or Henrik should be able to help though smile.gif .

I cannot recreate this either - however we have been working on the search recently so maybe you have some old javascripts cached. This should be solved by restarting your browser or emptying your browsers cache.

If you (or someone else) still has this problem please let us know what browser you are using (name and version).

Seems to work fine with latest Firefox3 and IE8?
'fksdhafdjk' or 'fsadrewq' returns 'No lessons found.'

For me the search is broken as well. I am using FF3 and my cache is disabled. Ctrl+F5 don't change anything.

For example, I typed "recording software" and it returns me everything. It seems that the result depends on where you are on the forum. Then "everything" will be limited to the topic you are currently in.

Sounds bad! You are referring to the forum search - right?

Yes, but perhaps I misunderstanding how that search stuff works... smile.gif

For example, I am on the forum index. I type "backing tracks" in the search box and validate. Refer to attachment to see the result.

There is messages with "backing tracks" right in the title but the pinned msgs appear first even though they are not pertinent results from my point of view.

Now, if I go back to the forum index and I search "recording software" if just got the same results than the last search... sad.gif

But if I go down to the Gear topic and search "recording software" then I have pretty nice results. But then, if I start directly a new search from the result page I got the same results as before again.

Not sure I am clear. Feel free to ask for more investigation if needed.

No you have understood it correctly - the forum search is extremely bad as it gives you both results for "backing" and "tracks". The search does not understand that you are looking for "backing tracks".

Fixing the search is on our to do list.

Until then you can type this into Google - and you will get what you are looking for:

site:www.guitarmasterclass.net site: backing tracks
