Anyone tried one of these? I know they wont be fantastic but are they serviceable for small acoustic song parts in gigs? Thing is I may be ordering a custom guitar and cant decide whether or not to include a piezo bridge as it will drive the cost up considerably, if these are viable then it will save me some cash!!

I'm really not sure man, I have piezo on one of my gutiars and it was more useful for recording, on gigs it was a bit boomy. I suggest you check out Boss Acoustic Simulator, I've hear it's a nice pedal.

+1!! They're very passable for a live situation. Some of the Zoom Multi FX's have a passable Simulator on them too!

Isnt the AC-2 the best sounding one?

I think we should suggest that Sted tries BOTH of them against each other and see which one he prefers!!!

I have the Boss AC-3 and use it for exactly the same thing as what your looking to use it for, it will never replace a real acoustic but for the odd part in a song it certainly does the job very well smile.gif

Thanks guys, I checked out the AC-3 on the Boss site and they say it is the replacement for the AC-2, I think it basically works the same as a piezo system would in the way that you physically switch the signal from your guitar through the pedal to a different amp, I guess you could have a small acoustic amp or run it to a seperate channel on a PA or something.............

I'll try it out but thanks for your input guys!
