Hey GMC!
Its with great pleasure I announce to you our newest Instructor Conrad Harpham!
Conrad has spent a lot of time getting info to me ready for his forum introduction so here it is!! Conrad Harpham – Promotional Information, Biography and Links Age - 35, DOB - 17/09/1973 Country- South West England Professional guitar player and tutor Conrad Harpham started playing the guitar at the age of 14. By the time he was 19, he had started to teach, and had gained acclaim from a national music magazine, which compared his playing to Joe Satriani. Over the next few years Conrad developed a fluid bluesy rock style, incorporating influences from Randy Rhoads, to Satriani and Richie Kotzen. In 2006, Conrad joined Jazz Funk outfit "Dimitri" and also started the "Conrad Harpham Trio", an instrumental rock fusion outfit. The Conrad Harpham Trio are currently playing in venues in the South of England, performing concerts and technique workshops. Conrad is currently a busy tutor and performer in the South West of England, and in 2008 completed his sixth recorded CD, "Conradical" which was described by Cross Rhythms magazine as a "Mesmerising display of solo electric guitar at its finest". Shortly after the release of this album, he signed as an international endorsee of Framus Guitar Company. Conrad has received acclaim for his playing from the likes of All out Guitar, and Hardrockhouse magazines and is now regarded as one of the most technically competent players in England. Roland UK recently described Conrad's playing as "Overwhelming, and "Alloutguitar" magazine as "Simply phenomenal". Awards and Achievements 2000 – National guitar competition "Jam 2000 Grand finalist (4th place) 2008 – International Guitar idol top 15 2008 – Devon County Battle of the bands "Outstanding Musician" Award 2008 – Signed as International endorsee of Framus Guitar Company 2009 – International guitar idol top 15 Musical philosophy I am great believer in the "P" word – practise – but not without structure. You can spend hours fiddling on the guitar with no real progress or learning taking place. A structure to each second of your routine is vital. The lessons at GMC provide you with this structure, to formulise your own practise routine, and to take your playing forward, whatever style or level you are. I am really looking forward to sharing some of my ideas with the community at GMC, and am eager to learning some new ideas from the other tutors and pupils. I am also a great in developing your own style, using ideas and licks from others, but then defining your own unique way of presenting music and playing your guitar. Most of all though, enjoy the guitar, it is a wonderful instrument!
