Hello, so i was thinking about buying a new amplifier since the one i have is an old vox pathfinder and im tired of it... So i was looking around on the internet and ive spotted out 2 amps that look interessting to me one of them is a vox AD50vt and the other one i a Line6 Spider 3 (75 or 30). I havent yet been and tested them out in a music store so i was just looking for some oppinions of you guys. The music i like is pretty much anything besides the heavyest if you know what i mean. If you have tips of other amps please share, my pricerange is about 450-500 dollars wich both amps mentioned cost in sweden. Thankful for any help or oppinions

What's your purpose with the amp?

Will you need a line out for recording?
Will you rehearse with a band? (more watts)
Do you have to keep it down cause of neighbours? (less watts, head phones option)
Tubes, solid state, hybrid or doesn't matter?

The purpose with the amp is to get more versatility since the amp i own today practically only have volume gain bass and treble... i dont need line out at the momen but colud be usefull in the future, i currently dont play in a band, and i need to be able to use headphones at late night playing, type of amp doesent really mather as long as it is versatile and user friendly

Out of those two you mention, I'd definately go for the VOX AD50VT smile.gif
I've owned it and it's a great amp!!

I also like the Vox sound better than the Line6 sound, but that's a matter of taste.
If you can, try them both and then decide.
But my tip would be the Vox smile.gif

My advice: Blackstar Ht-5

This thing is a beast! 5 watt all tube combo or mini stack, 2channels, footswitch, headphones and recording out, the only low watt tube amp with high gain, the possibilty to make it sound british or american, made by EX Marshall engineers!

Vox would be my choice there, although Line 6 is more versatile. It's best to try them both and compare tones, you may not like Vox or Line6, this is something that you have to hear.

If you want a modelling amp check out the peavey vypyr as well, I heard it sounds better than the vox

Great choice!
That was my pick too.
The Vox is a great amp, sounds very natural...

Line6 is crap, Vox is the whiz

I tested a VT100 and its very good. (complicated...)

Line6 spider amp with 212 can be a good giggin amp if you set the preset right. Requires tweaking but some good tones are there.
