Ibanez' Prestige line rocks!. All the guitars of this series that I saw are beautiful. And the best of it that they aren't only a pretty "face", their sound is amazing

possibly the ugliest guitar ive ever seen, whats that switch all about? And that trem looks like it was made in a shipyard.
Theyre like japanese sports cars, they take an all time classic sprots car and try and make it better but just end up with a Lexus SC450, just not for me at all im afriad.

I agree with your comment only concerning the switch .. laugh.gif. I think these are really great guitars. Not so much this weird paintjob version tho, but in red or other colors it's nice. This big plastic frame around the switch is indeed ugly. The body is really thin, so i guess thats the reason, but it could have been done better i think.

Anyway it's an awesome guitar and i don't see the switch anymore on mine laugh.gif

i know the guy who owns that weird paint job one

really sweet guitar, i think its unique and pretty

the trem is the highest quality trem ever made, beats the OFR any day

the switch is like that because it needs to compensate for the small body (less than an inch or so thick) so it needs that little extension to compensate for the very tall switch,

to each their own i guess....but the old ibanez S's cant be beat!

oh and btw, that isnt "custom"

almost all the S's from the late 80's till mid 90's had the custom made inlay on them

its kinda like the same thing as the back of the RG prestige headstock where it says " made by team J craft "

just marketing wink.gif

those sold for about $600-800 back in the day, and you can get em on ebay for $3-500

they have the original edge trem (some have the Lo Pro Edge)

22 frets

Wizard 1 neck

and the pick ups varied by year

I like this guitar. The plastic around switch was the same on old Jenifer Batten and Frank Gambale models.

I'm just an old fart when it comes to guitars I guess, I think the design peaked in 1959! I would exchange all my gear and my car for a sixties strat!
