Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Here's the original lesson. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...ohnson-lesson2/

I used an Ibanez GRG170DX, and Line6 PODxt. I didn't have a footswitch, so when I had to change to distortion all I could do was put a screamer distortion over the clean tone. I hope you understand that I couldn't change tones properly, so I couldn't get a good distorted sound. smile.gif

I've noticed with all my rec recordings, but this one especially, that I'm not very good at timing and rhythm placement. Is there anything specific I can do to get better at timing or will it just come naturally over time?

You have some sync problems with audio. There were some sloppy parts but I see that you're quite confident here. That overdriven sound wasn't really a good one. I don't know what you're using there but it just didn't sound as "expensive" as it sould be for this kind of solo. The overall playing is good.

Play with a metronome any scale or pattern you already know, using different figures, eighth notes, triplet eighth notes, sixteenth notes and so on. Then, try to change from one figure to another one, keeping the same tempo.
No matter what you're playing, you should be sure to have the rhythm in your HEAD before you play.

You are actually doing quite good with rhythm imo

Do you still record backings through player or?
