Thanks a lot ! I'll try to do as many of your lessons as possible ! Even at "lower" levels, like 2 and 3, they can be very helpful to get new concepts of phrasing, and I also improve my vibrato and cleaner playing when playing simpler, slower things !

You're welcome, let me know if you need any help with those lessons. Hi again ! I downloaded many videos of you playing from YouTube onto my iPod so I can watch your insane skills every day ! I was just wondering whether I can put a lot of distortion on for the "Jumping Around - Beginner" lesson. I was thinking on putting the drive and gain as high up as it goes without all the noise in the background. I use a different recording equipment to yours, so your presets don't apply... -------------------- My YouTube Channel

Not sure if you really need to set gain all the way up for that lesson,
go for 70-80%, that should work as well. What do you use, what gear, is there a some kind of noisegate? P.S. Glad you enjoy my work, just don't over watch it, I get boring quite easily. -------------------- Youtube

Glad you enjoy my work, just don't over watch it, I get boring quite easily. I know the song isn't of the Metal genre, but I just thing it sounds smoother with a lot of distortion, but I will not overdo it, of course ! I don't really comprehend the noisegate's function, as I am not 100% familiar with POD Farm and guitar equipment... Does it actually remove the background humming noise ? I have no idea how you can say your work gets boring when excessively watched ! It blows my mind every single time I watch it... Keeps me motivated and makes me try harder to improve my skills ! -------------------- My YouTube Channel

I'm not quite familiar with POD either but if there is some noisegate then it should help you to remove some if it, if not entirely. Note, more drive on pickups without heavy output ( singles per example ) will lead to even more noise, you have to work with what you've got. I have no idea how you can say your work gets boring when excessively watched ! It blows my mind every single time I watch it... Keeps me motivated and makes me try harder to improve my skills ! Cheers. -------------------- Youtube

I tried the noisegate and it works perfectly ! Could you tell me what the difference between single-coil and humbucker is ? I mean, I've seen many guitarists using only single-coil have an equally heavy sound as humbucker guitarists...

I mean, I've seen many guitarists using only single-coil have an equally heavy sound as humbucker guitarists... Well it's hard to say what difference in sound is, there are many different types of singles and humbuckers, some single coils can be much heavier compared to some humbuckers. But story goes that back in time players were using singles only cause they had nothing else. Singles were wired that way so that they cannot handle lot of gain easily and here is comes noise or hum. Next step was to find pickup with double wiring in order to remove some of that noise/hum and so we got humbuckers. And as the time was running we got even noiseless singles, singles with extremely high output etc. Here's one article that could help you more. -------------------- Youtube

I figured this was probably the best way to make a request to get the backing track for the lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...asing-beginner/ I'm really digging it and would love to practice it within' pro tools to make a recording for some critics/improvements. |
