Hi there, I'm having issues recording with my Pod XT Live... Mainly an issue monitoring my recording.

Here's my scenario:

I have a Pod XT Live connected by USB recording through REAPER (the recording itself all works fine).

The problem is when I output my Pod XT Live (L/Mono) to my ATOMIC Reactor 112-50 I hear major buzzing/fuzz/popping through the amp. This only happens when the USB is connected to record to the computer.

If I'm just playing through my ATOMIC it works perfectly.

I've tried 3 different computers at this point and am stumped...

All I want to be able to do is listen to myself play on my ATOMIC while I'm recording.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

The only thing I can think of that might be happening is that the transition of USB digital data is somehow producing a magnetic field that is and affecting the line out of the POD, if that is the case there isn't much you can do.

You can probably monitor what you are playing on the computer itself, or use the line output of the POD to record on your computer.

Thanks for your reply. This is a weird issue I wish could be solved... but if it can't, do you have any recommendations on affordable hardware I could purchase to connect my Pod XT Live to my computer without using USB?

Thanks again

If the outputs on the POD are line-level (low impedance, you can check it in the manual), then you can get something like EMU0404 PCI card. This will work great, and this card is a lot better for audio production than USB connected POD anyway. You can run even third party modelers like Guitar Rig or Amplitube(s).
