I just realized I've been a member here for over a month now. I went back and checked my old recordings with the new ones, and I've made more progress in one month than my last year of acoustic guitar playing combined.

A month ago I knew the first pentatonic box and a few AC/DC solos.

Now I'm practicing sweeping, speed picking, legato, tapping, string skipping, diagonal pentatonic runs across the fretboard, more scales than I could name, I've memorized every note on the guitar, and I've finally started to mute strings without thinking about it. My playing is actually faster than it was a month ago, AND more controlled.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks Kris and Pavel. I know the best thank you is the paycheck at the end of the month cool.gif , but you guys are doing a great job here.

I gotta second the thanks here but I would also like to extend it to the great community created here at gmc. Together with the inspiration and motivation by Kris and the same two elements granted by the community I've been noticing huge progress in my playing skills. Compared to before I joined I can now rip it up wild wink.gif

Also has got me working on a more tighter work-out schedule. Soon it will reach the perfect bland and I will improve even more, of this I am certain!

Yes our community has really taken me with surprise - we have some fantastic knowledge here among the members. It also feels like we have managed to get quite a unique atmosphere when comparing to other guitar forums... I am stunned biggrin.gif

Don't be stunned - be proud, this is all down to you and your open attitude. A lot of guitarists as good as you would be arrogant, and show off their knowledge without giving anything back. You on the other hand are modest and a great teacher, and you are adding other great teachers like Pavel who share your attitude.

The biggest reason I joined the site was when I saw your signature, and opening vid when you say you have no talent and that we can all beat you by hard work ... I still don't believe you have no talent wink.gif but that statement perfectly encapsulates your attitude, and the attitude the site is pervaded with - and we're only just getting started!

So, I'd also like to add my thanks - my playing is coming along in leaps and bounds too, its amazing how much you can pick up just by hanging out with a varied group of talented and motivated guitarists!

I second all of the good thoughts here. I saw Kris playing Curious Coincidence on google video and got hooked on GMC that way. The reason that I chose "Kristofer's Method" above a lot of other stuff out there is because I was very impressed by his picking technique. If you watch that video closely you will see what I mean. He play's the notes with alternate picking, very smoothly and without much effort. (so it appears to me smile.gif ). I wanted to learn that technique.

Thanks Kris. Any thanks Pavel for your awesome lessons too. GMC has really inspired me to rediscover playing in new ways. biggrin.gif
