Here's some vids for my application... The audio quality shall be the same, the vid quality as in video 2, of course more close up to the fretboard, since these vids wasn't produced for this purpose.... Oh, and as Sted I would like to have Ivan since we seems to like the same kind of styles.... :-)

Hello everyone! I'm back from my vacation, just in time to see this thread... biggrin.gif

I have not been able to make many videos, so I will just put up my old REC - video for the application... If it's not enough I could make some more videos, but I think this shows my current level (at least for what I'm able to record properly)

The instructor I would wish as my mentor would be either Zsolt or David if available

Thanks smile.gif

Hey!
I joined GMC to start playing the guitar and I was impressed by this MTP...
since I'm a complete beginner (and complete means complete tongue.gif) and playing only for two weeks, I don't have anything to upload sad.gif I'm working on Muris' Strumming and Arpeggios and on Andrew's Smoke on the water, but I haven't recorded anything...don't know how long one can make an application, but I really really really wanna be mentored! I'm sure this would improve my playing very fast laugh.gif
So I'll upload something as fast as I can...
I'd love to be mentored by Ivan Milenkovic! (and when he wouldn't be "available", I'd love Gabriel Leopardi )
So this post will be edited, I'll add a bigger application and 2 videos for sure ! (if I can play these tricky barre chords rolleyes.gif )

I'll start off by saying that I'll take any instructor that's willing to have me. I'll do bass if Bodgan wants to mentor me. I'm positive I can learn something from any instructor from 3 months of mentoring.

Things I really need work on: everything

Here are my two most recent videos for the REC program:

EDIT:
Would it be OK if I changed my list ? I think I have a lot to learn from Emir when it comes to composing, neoclassical metal, vibrato and shredding (with feel).

Instructors in order of preference :

Emir Hot (insane shredding)

Marcus Lavendell (for his insane vibrato)
Gabriel Leopardi (for his admiration of Iron Maiden, and some awesome skills)
Lian Gerbino (awesome rhythm and power metal)

Now if any of these are unavailable, I would like to know so before actually being given one, so I can maybe reconsider my request, although it's quite probable that I'll choose Gabriel ! biggrin.gif

Anyway, I like metal, any kind, although Classic Metal (Iron Maiden) and Epic/Power Metal along with Neoclassical are the styles that are most appealing to me. I enjoy almost all metal bands, as long as the vocalist doesn't growl in such a manner as to spoil the rest of the song. (I know Lian growls, but he actually sounds cool, just check out Where is Santa ?) What I'm trying to improve with my guitar playing is definitely legato, finger strength/independence in general, tapping, vibrato, bending, theory... I guess I could use some improvement in every aspect of my playing... smile.gif

Here are a few video of myself playing from the REC board. You can see my entire repertoire on the REC Score Board, following this link: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/wiki/index.php/Alexiaden93

So, instructionators, I'm awaiting your signal to start practising ! biggrin.gif

I would really love to be mentored by Pedja!

If he is not available i think the following intructors would fit my needs the best:
muris, ramiro, ivan milenkovic, Piotr or marcus lavendell.

What i need:
Organised/focused practise
know all the arpegios on the fretboard
jazz theory (as modulations and other stuff for improving my composing skills)

Genres i play the most (though i like all genres):
Blues
rock
jazz
classical

Videos of my playing:
pedjas collab
Piotrs composition

I am now able to record my video(HD-quality) and audio seperatly (=no noise)

With great hopes of getting mentored wink.gif
-Frederik

# Edit:
Made Pedja my number 1 priority

I just joined GMC and this was primarily the reason why so i can apply for a mentor ive been playing for a couple months and feel like im lacking direction and this sounds absolutely perfect, im pretty much a blank canvas for a instructor atm and im looking to absorb as much as i can. I am really only a beginner so i dont have a whole lot to show nor would i know what too however if chosen i would film whatever is required of me for my instructor.

Im into metal such as thrash, power metal and glam i also like bluesy kind of rock like aerosmith, the stones and hendrix.

I wouldnt mind being mentored by someone like velvet roger or uncle skillet but whoever has been deemed worthy enough of mentor status will do for me just as long as they are hands on and know what they are talking about as i really need to get the very basics of lead and rhythm down along with some theory.

Okay so here is my vid(first time recording rushed it so settings are off) i havent been playing very long at all this is my first proper shot i guess at lead work it sucks but what you gonna do we all have to start somewhere. I broke up the frusciante style lesson into phrases i only looked at it 5mins before i did my take for it so didnt practice it never really done bends before this vid so i dont know what note im bending too etc just tried to copy the action n left it at that hah.

Bad timing for me: I'm leaving on a week's vacation in a few hours.

I too would be totally stoked to get some regular attention from any instructor, in any style. I'm embedding my two recent REC submissions which are a fair representation my rudimentary skill with a strat. What's missing from that picture is that browsing around the GMC lessons has also reignited some interest in classical guitar, and I've started putting some of my practice time into nylon string stuff. My level there is about the same, maybe 2+. I've been learning a lot about how to direct my efforts just from reading the site and watching the videos. I think what I could use most is help figuring out what are the most important things for me to work on now, and pointing out any specific weaknesses I'm not yet aware of. In return, I'll work relentlessly and share freely.

I think that Ramiro, Ivan M. or Dejan might be a good fit for my interests. I've only been with GMC for 2 months and don't know much about many of the instructors yet.

Hey guys,

I was in the previous MTP round with Monte (Lcsdds), who helped me big time! We came to the conclusion it'd be good if I'd apply here now. For me, Any instructor is good. If there's a spot, I think Ivan Milenkovic would be cool for me, since I know him a bit, and he has always helped me!

My style goes from pop, to jazzy, to rock, to metal, but mainly rock oriented. I play lessons up untill lvl 6, and here are some videos:
Volume Control Soloing (Piotr Kaczor)

In the style of Brian May (David Wallimann)

I've also competed (or still am) in the guitar master competition, so you can hear my composing skills tongue.gif I made this track: Rock Along

I need a mentor, to help me learn some more theory, and give some support with the lessons I want to learn! And just to have fun with wink.gif Since I have some MTP experience, I could also do some mentoring, but only for the real beginners!

My MTP thread can be watched HERE. It might serve well to show that I'm very active, so you won't have a student who's only online once a month wink.gif I'm Looking forward to a new cool MTP period!

Kaz

Here is my entry. A video I made something like 8 months ago: I use a camera and Guitar Rig + Toneport GX to record videos.
I think I really have a wild playing because I've never had any instructors. I've only learnt famous guitar pieces from tabs, so I know 0 about theory.

If possible I would like to be mentored by Pedja.

I would like to be mentored by Mr. Milenkovic since he's been so helpful and I love the blues. David Walliman would awesome as well, but I would be honored to have a mentor of any sort at their calibur of play! I like music all over the spectrum, neoclassical.. blues.. hard rock.. metal. My theory knowledge is pretty low and technique needs some serious work but I'm willing to put it in.

Being in the MTP in an opportunity for me to become better in my weak points

like there are:

- theory
- being able to put theory in practice: improvise without playing wrong notes and play beyond box 1 -->modes, and no want scale to play in a key
- better phrasing
- better rhythm in phrasing and placement
- writing a solo
- writing songs
-

I think any GMC instructor will do because the are all very good. But I will apply for Muris, if he is available.

I use guitarport/gearbox, MusicMaker 2008, logitech pro 9000

I like to play rock, blues, blues rock, rock ballads, funk, funk-jazz (fusion) and simple blues-jazzy chord progressions.

My favorite guitarist are:
Ritchie Blackmore, Alex Lifson, Michael Schenker, Carlos Santana, Jeff Healy, SRV, Satch, Steve Lukather, BB KIng, Gary Moore, Wes Montgomery......

My mean goal is to become a solid all round guitarist.

Here are some vid i made for REC program

Nice smile.gif

I would love to get mentored by either Pedja Simovic, Marcus Lavendell or Piotr Kaczor.

What do i want to Improve?
- My main weakness is that I put to little time in theory, (I know quite a bit) but i think it's really boring. But i might put down some effort in it tongue.gif
- Alternate Picking, Economy Picking and Hybrid Picking.
- The mystery of jazz/fusion theory tongue.gif
- Some nice licks might be fun
- Phrasing
- Mode changes
- I'm basically intrested in learning whatever Pedja, Marcus or Piotr has to offer smile.gif

Here's some videos of me playing.

Well here is a little vid of a random jam i did for this mentor thing, its not that great but hey.. it is the first time i've done this kinda thing. My style is predominatly metal but i enjoy learning all different styles as i feel it is important to add different flavours to the music i write. I am completly self taught which probebly means that i have picked up many mistakes, which can be corrected in the mentoring programme. my main goals are to clean up my fast picking and sweep picking technuiqes as well as expand my knowledge of scale and chord structures. Basicly i want to improve every facet of my playing. My main influances guitar wise are the following people: Dimebag, the Amott brothers, per nilsen (scar symetry) Zakk wilde, slash,Randy rhodes, srv, and many many more. I hope that being part of the mentoring programme will enable me to learn in a more dynamic way and make me a all round better guitarist/ musician

so there we go, i will upload some better videos with me playing better after the nerves have gone lol

Little better video .....
