Has anyone of you ever used this program?
It's amazing and easy to create rpg's.
If anyone has used it or uses, what do you think of creating a game together? biggrin.gif

Lol, PIXEL ART IS AWESOME!

With this thing, it's easy, (can make it advanced by using codes and scripts) to create a Zelda like game, and who doesn't love those!

Check this out for more info: http://www.rpgrevolution.com/

Used it a lot years ago. If you want something really good and clever you will need to read a bit upon codes and scripts and such.

Even though it's easy it takes up a lot of your time, if you want to create something unique.

I wasn't using Vx though, it must have been 2k3 or 2k. I think 2k3 is the one people thinks the best of...?

Hmm, I don't know man, I wanna get into it, but don't know with which version, that's why I thought it would be better to take the new one.
Because 2003, is well, 6 years old!:D

It's not a free program, as far as I know. Unless they've changed it of course.

Most of the programs in the series have the same features, but small things have changed throughout.

Here's a bit on the topic: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage....;topic=42096286

I used to have a folder full of tutorials for RPG maker 2k or 2k3. I don't have it anymore though.

Thanks I'll read it up!

It's not free, but it's really not expensive, and you can do loads of cool stuff with it, even when you got a bit of coding knowledge.
Yeah I'll probably go with either 2003 or XP then, since VX seems to have 1 tileset for the whole game, and 2003 and such for every style of map you create.

Yeah I noticed. There's a 30 day trial, though. More then enough time to get into some of the basic stuff wink.gif

Also, be sure to check out the various sites with tilesets, etc. I cannot remember them right now, but do a quick search on google for "RPG maker resources" or something like that smile.gif

I would expect there to be a lot fewer resources to the new one than to 2000 or 2003 versions. smile.gif

If you have 30 days without anything else to do, yes! laugh.gif

To actually create a full length game with it, I believe will take a great deal longer. But yes, I do think you could get into the most basic stuff in 30 days. The VX version seems to have more automated events, as far as I can see, as compared to the old versions where you had to do everything yourself.

Oh, you can download the program from RPGrevolution, I see. Not sure if it's legal though, but that's not my call smile.gif

Yeah, that site hasn't got the full version tho.
We're (Canis & I LOL) are gonna use XP, it has alot of recourses too!
I know about those events, XP doesn't have them really automated.

I used to play with the RPG Maker 2000 a lot. I even started making a few games with a friend, but we never finished... Now, I don´t want this anymore. No time left. wink.gif Looking forward to the GMC game, tho. biggrin.gif

Ok, I'm looking to get a bit into Ruby Scripting. Though alot of "tutorials" are working for normal scripting.
Did you ever use a book? In relation to RPG MAKER? Since the scripting and coding kinda stays the same over the years.

No, I learned everything with tutorials. I subscribed to some german rpg maker forums and learned a few things there. However, I forgot a lot. biggrin.gif
