I rendered the following videos from the same "master" in Vegas.

Notice how the intro bar goes further across the screen in the 2nd video? The text overlay doesn't fit the black bar in the first video, but in the second video it does. Why is that?

Looks like a bug in the program. Bitrate shouldn't make a difference when rendering. If it works in 4.8 Mbps then just stick with it.

that's very strange,

It's probably a setting on the actual shadow, or the size when rendering
