A couple of guys in the chat-room responded in a positive manner to my offering them a TAB to potentially improve their legato, and so I got to work. The TAB is very short, as you will find the rest of the info in this post.

When the TAB ends, you can just transpose the pattern one step up. The higher up on the fretboard you go, the more difficult it will be to achieve a clean sound when hammering on or pulling off, so be sure to repeat the pattern AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN until you get a pure sound; then transpose...

The exercise is simple, yet effective, which is probably the key to learning/practising any technique.

If you need any help, you can ask, although I am probably the worst legato-player on GMC ! biggrin.gif

Remember that a clean tone is best developed by playing things slowly. Pick the first note and let it fade out, then hammer-on or pull-off very hard to get another note as if you had picked it. If you do this regularly I have no doubt legato will be the last of your concerns when it comes to technique... smile.gif
