My name's Tom and I'm a 35 year old software engineer wannabe rock star. smile.gif

I've been playing for about 2 years, took lessons for 1 year, but I wasn't happy with the teacher (I seem to work better on my own anyway). I've mostly been going back and forth between classic rock like Pink Floyd and Santana to bands like Metallica, Megadeth and Nightwish. I'm interested in pretty much anything from blues to death metal (depends on my mood).

So, now that I'm here, I'm going to go explore the site!

--------------------

Guitars : Fender Strat, Epi Les Paul, Ibanez RG
Amp : Line 6 Pod X3
Influences : Pink Floyd, Santana, Metallica, Megadeth, Nightwish, Satch, Vai
Level : Early Intermediater (just over 3 years)

Hi Tom!

Welcome to GMC. I'm sure you'll find everything you need here.

Ask use if you have any questions, alright! smile.gif

--------------------
"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato
