So they finally unveiled it after countless of rumors going around. Pretty cool, though I bought my PS3 just a couple of monts ago so I won't buy it (at least not yet)

Here's the story:

They should have took the same idea they had for PSX. Put an LCD screen on that thing. Talk about Portable Playstation.

In all seriousness, I think it looks slick. They got rid off excess space, remove the glossy black stuff that makes it a finger magnet, and made it look better. Sony always does this stuff with there consoles so I expected it.

I will hate me for what I will say now, but, I tried PS3 last week, and my feelings were "and now?". I think it doesn't worth the price. (At least here, it's $3000, but local money, not dollars). For the same price, I can get a very very well prepared PC, with a lot more functions. And the games weren't that good for saying "WOW!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT". But I think they didn't developed the maximum level of function of the PS3, so, let's see what's coming next

I agree with you to some extent, and in fact that has staved off my desire for consoles in general (because I have a great laptop that can play most games), with the exception of the Wii. There are some exceptions, I think Little Big Planet for example is a great, classic game, but even with the Xbox and PS3 combined, I feel like there isn't a lot I'm missing out on that I can't get on either my PC or Wii.

Now, there are some interesting developments coming down the tube, so we'll have to see what happens smile.gif

Well Wii is a completely different category. I never regret getting one smile.gif Gameplay is very interesting and "party" friendly smile.gif

Have you played the demo? I must admit, even though I know it's only a 70% build, that I was pretty disappointed. Sure, there were some good things in it too, but it doesn't quite live up to the good old days where no football game came near PES.

I went out and bought FIFA when it came out. That's the first time I've bought a FIFA game since Fifa 99. Even though it lacks in some parts (especially editing), it has taken me by surprise and is quite a good game. I'll still be buying PES though, and then we'll see what happens.

Nah I don't even have a PS3 yet so haven't played the demo. The reviews are saying it's better than 09 (and I loved that). People say FIFA is more realistic but I'll never switch to the dark side. I've been playing pro evo for about 4 years now, it's more a way of life. I've always had more fun playing pro.

True that. As said, the last time I bought FIFA was in 99. I have not played anything but PES/ISS/ISSPRO etc. in that time.

Hahaha. Believe me, I have already pre-ordered PES a long time ago. FIFA demo impressed me though. And it's more difficult, which I like. Though it's solely due to the fact that I'm not that good at the game. I mean... after 10 years of PES you could in a game at Top Player or 5*, or whatever they decide to call it, blindfolded.

Pro Evo is all about playing against friends though. I spent 3 years at uni playing and we had some bloody epic matches. The tension is also heightened by the addition of a "Wall of Shame" which you go on if you lose by 4 or more goals.

PES isn't about the uber realistic gameplay, the amazing graphics etc. It's about that stupid goalkeeping error that costs someone a game 1-0, it's the hilarious piece of commentary that leaves you laughing so much you can't continue to play. And the commentary doesn't seem to have changed on the new game. In a review the guy says that if you play well at half time Mark Lawrenson will suggest that you deserve a wagon wheel. I mean, that is incredible. I can just picture Mark Lawrenson rolling up to the Konami offices, reading out the lines without evening questioning them, picking up his pay cheque and leaving.

I agree, I got a PS3 from my parents as a birthday gift, had it for around a month, sold it in about 10 minutes. It wasnt worth the price, the online wasn't that great I found, and I missed my buddies over on Xbox live!
