Here we go:

John Petrucci
Steve Vai
Joe Satriani
Herbie Hancock
Michael Romeo
Adrian Smith
Miles Davis

While these influence seem more rock and metal, these guitarists have shown their versatility in their playing, such as putting fusion style solos in heavy metal songs and so on.

Jazz Fusion
Progressive Rock/Metal
Latin Jazz
Latin Music in general like flamenco
Classic Rock

- Learning Jazz style theory in relation to technique example: complex arpeggios over complex jazz chords

- Learning weird scales like half whole diminished and other famous jazz scales

- Learning to incorporate all styles of music together, improve versatility

-Learning complex chords

- The last thing on my mind is technique. Ive been doing mostly technique for the years of my playing, tapping, sweeping, speed picking i can do, its more or less knowing where my hands are going and knowing all the shapes I need to know while knowing why they look the way they do and so on...(i hope that makes sense)

I know all scales/modes and when to use them, however like i mentioned above, chord theory has always been my weakness. I know what the 7ths are, dominants, diminished are and the basic stuff like that...but when we get into chords like B with a b5 or Amaj7b5 then i start to get confused on finger placement and what not. but other than that, i understand theory pretty well

Favorite songs:

Under a glass moon- Dream Theater
Cantaloupe island - Herbie Hancock
Green Dolphin Street- Miles Davis
Count of Tuscany - Dream Theater
Dance of Death- Iron Maiden
The whole Scenes from a memory pt2 album - Dream Theater

ahh there are so many i couldnt list them all tongue.gif

ill get that MTP video up as soon as my guitars come back from the shop (tomorrow)

- Marc
Current Set up:
Atomic Reactor 2x12 Cab/power amp with a Digitech rp1000 as a preamp

Awesome Marc!

We will focus on all things you mentioned. Make sure you submit that video tomorrow or sometime soon. I am not sure yet when MTP will kick in but you need to post that video in this thread HERE.

By the way, I really like the way you wrote all the things, clear and precise I know exactly what we need to work on wink.gif
