Ok. so. at the moment if i pick up my guitar for any length of time over an hour i get a irritation on my wedding finger on my left hand. It is right on the finger tip you know the part you fret with. at first it just itches. then if i carry on any longer it will start getting sore. and if i carried on any longer it goes very hard tipped and become a little bump that would actually peel off like a little scab or something!!

I've left my guitar alone not playing for long lengths of time for a week. and it still does it. has any one ever heard of this or anything like it?

ITS REALLY EFFECTING MY PLAYING PLEASE HELP!! sad.gif sad.gif

Seems to me you are having calluses . They form after frequent playing, and when you are constantly playing they usually stay there. After a while of not playing they go away, and they can form again. This way skin makes a natural defense against tearing.
