I just stumbled across GMC an hour ago while searching Google for a Freddie King "Hide Away" backing track. A GMC forum thread came up and I started browsing your website and found it was the answer my prayers haha. (Keep reading if you're bored - if not, see you around and glad to be on here!) ------------------------------- I'm Brandon Earman.. 21 years old from Texas. I got my first guitar when I was 11. Had a few guitar teachers, a couple not so great and one (classical teacher) who was incredible. I haven't taken lessons since I was 15. Up until this past year, I have always taken guitar for granted and just not thought too much of it. I would play for hours a day and then not touch the guitar for a month. Within the past year I've really started playing and wishing I would have poured everything I had into guitar since day one. I've been studying artists such as Stevie Ray, David Gilmour, Freddie King, and others. Any guitar playing that has soul and feel to it I can listen to for hours. I'm sure all of you here are in the same boat. So here I am, playing along with backing tracks in my room and trying to figure stuff out without a teacher (which I'm not as good as others at teaching myself). I feel GMC is a well rounded, elaborate resource for just about anything I'll need to boost my learning. Last, here's my equipment situation. Up until the past year, I played an Ibanez RG 350-DX (the Steve Vai knock off) and Digitech RP300 through a tiny Marshall G10. I decided it's time to upgrade and got a used Fender Hot Rod Deluxe which has got me blowin' the house down with incredible tone. I got a TS-9 Tube Screamer and a Korg Pitchblack tuner. Next on the list is (after months of debating and research)a new American Standard Strat which my heart is set on. After that I plan on working on the pedal board and going even more broke.
