Well, of course it helps! Yes, it is boring, but there is a reason for doing all this, good to hear that you finally found out about the benefits

It used to happen the same to me. I thought "This is so boring!!, I wanna play fast!!". But then, a few years later, understood why I have to warm up first. I had Tendinitis for a while. It's so annoying!!. So, try to always warm up before playing.

interesting, I always skipped to the fast licks too. I think I will try warming up. How exactly do you properly warm up though?

Yeah I use Marcus' Warm-up lessons... I also found that (aside from the benefit of warming up) it's REALLY good for finger synchronisation...

I usually do the 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-3-4-5-6 and so on, on every strings as a "warm up"... I use the quote signs because said "warmups" usually take about 2-3 minutes, and could be more effective, I guess

Good thing you found out about the benefits of it man, yes, warming up the hands really helps, otherwise muscles will be worn out more quickly. I warm up even before using the PC keyboard extensively, it really helps.

If you ever get around to buying John Petruccie's Wild Stringdom, he has a billion fantastic warmups in the book.
